b0torn ("b0torn", "we", "us") is a free, community-run tool for Torn City
factions, consisting of a Discord bot and a web control panel at
b0torn.com. This policy explains what data we handle and why. We
keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the bot's features and we
do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who this is for
b0torn is intended for Torn City players managing their factions. It is
not directed at children under the age required to use Discord (13) or Torn.
Please do not use b0torn if you do not meet those platforms' age
requirements.
Information we collect
- Discord account (via login): when you sign in to the control
panel we use Discord OAuth with the
identify scope only. We
receive your Discord user ID and username. We do not read your
messages, email address, servers, or any other Discord data.
- Torn account details: to confirm your faction and role we map
your Discord ID to your Torn account using Torn's official verified-Discord
lookup, which returns your Torn player ID, name, faction, and position.
- Torn API keys: faction administrators and, optionally,
contributing members voluntarily provide a Torn API key (Limited access).
We store these keys to read data from the Torn API on the faction's
behalf.
- Game and faction data: using the provided keys we read data from
the Torn API — including faction member lists, online/activity status,
attack and ranked-war records, respect gained/lost, ranked-war history,
Xanax usage, bounty status, and public faction information — and store
statistics derived from it to power reports, activity tracking, payouts,
and scouting.
- Session cookie: when you log in we set a single signed cookie so
the panel remembers you are logged in. It contains your identifiers
(Discord ID, Torn ID, faction, role) and is cryptographically signed.
How we use it
Data is used solely to provide b0torn's features: generating war reports
and payouts, tracking member activity and contribution, running rollcalls,
scouting opponents, and controlling who may access the web panel (limited to
a faction's Leader, Co-leader, and positions the Leader approves). We do not
sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for their own purposes, and
we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Cookies
We use a single functional session cookie to keep you logged into the
control panel. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Third-party services
- Discord — used for login and bot operation. Your use is subject
to Discord's own Privacy Policy.
- Torn (torn.com) — the source of all game data, accessed through
the official Torn API with keys you provide. Your use is subject to Torn's
terms and privacy practices.
Data is stored on a private server operated by us and is not shared with
other third parties.
Data retention & your choices
- API keys and configuration are kept while b0torn serves your faction.
Anyone who added a key can remove it at any time (for contributors, via the
accelerator remove-key command; for faction keys, via a faction admin).
- Derived statistics are retained to provide historical reports and are
periodically pruned.
- You may request deletion of your faction's stored data or your personal
identifiers by contacting us (see below). Removing the bot from your server
and removing your keys stops further data collection.
Security
Keys and data are stored on a private server and session cookies are
signed to prevent tampering. No method of storage or transmission is
completely secure, so we recommend only ever providing Limited Torn
API keys, never a Full-access key.
Changes
We may update this policy as the bot changes. The "last updated" date
above reflects the latest revision. Continued use after an update means you
accept the revised policy.
